The Sun is Out and Life is Good!


I talk a lot in Nutrition about Smoothies. Juicing with a good quality juicer is a fantastic way of increasing your enzymes and antioxidents, which will help slow the aging process and prevent against disease as much as you can. We all know how much fruit and vegetables we should eat per day, but realistically do we?


In the U.S the average adult consumes just one and a half portons of fruit and vegetables per day, while here in Britian a remarkable 65% of the adult population eat one portion per day! There is no excuse as it is readily available in every supermarket you can go to, but still some people do not realise the dramatic effect it can have on their health if they consume more.

Juicing removes the fibre, where as smoothies leave it all in the drink. I am a fan of both myself and I recommend both methods to my clients because they both serve a different purpose to our bodies. Juicing is very cleansing for the liver and the blood and requires very little energy from digestion. If you are ill in anyway the best thing you can do is a juice fast for 3 days to really clear your systems out. This also gives the body a rest, as digestion uses up a huge amount of energy and takes away the ability for repair and renewal within the cells. Juicing organic vegetables is a great way of packing Nutrient rich structures into the body and it tastes great. It is also one of the best things you can do for your children too. It is a wonderful thing to get them involved with the preparing of a juice as it's fascinating to watch. I have discovered they appreciate it a whole lot more if they have helped to make it and when they understand how good its going to make them feel!

Vegetable juice assists in alkalizing the body, which is essential in maintaining great health, it also floods the body with oxygen, minerals and vitamins. The green veggies are packed with chlorophyll, iron, calcium, anti oxidents, minerals and amino acids.

The food you consume in a day changes everything from your emotional well being, energy levels, libido, mood swings, sugar levels, ability to concentrate and brain power. (These are just a few).  Food makes you so strong, but it also has the ability to calm your mind, to ground you and remove aggression. It would be my dream to be able to offer every school child in the country a juice as they arrive for their school day to help with concentration and focus. It would also help with agitation and aggression when used long term which would solve many problems we have in schools today. I wish the government and the NHS would look at things on a long term basis and spend money on education around Nutrition, and then provide us with what we really need. Eating a lot of organic vegetables per day in the quantity that we need is expensive, but if it was made possible for everyone to achieve I can guarantee the world would be a happier place full of more reasonably calm and focused individuals with a cut in half of the cost for medical care in every field of disease including obesity, heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis etc.

I want to create awareness around this as much as I can and am planning some seminars in the next few months. I would love as many people as possible to attend as this is vital information for everyone to understand and become more aware of how important the food we put in our mouths has a direct link to what is happening within our bodies every second of the day. We are not detached from any part of our bodies. If we develop arthritis in our knee, we cannot blame our knee for letting us down, as it what we are lacking in our diets. If we cannot get pregnant and it is not a mechanical disfunction we must clean up the body and prepare for this beautiful creation to manifest and survive. We must start taking more responsibility for our actions, our own health and the way we live our lives.

Here are a couple of great juicing recipies to get you started and to give you an energy boost like no other! Also, I would normally try to help everyone save cash on things, but when it comes to buying a good juicer it is well worth the investment of at least £150.00 to make sure you are getting the best quality and this will save you money in the long term as you will get more juice from your veggies! Enjoy!

* Alkaline Green Juice --

Ingredients: 2 Celery Sticks * 1 Large Cucumber * 2 Handfuls Spinach Leaves * 1 Large Handful Lettuce * 1 Lemon Freshly squeezed
Add in your blender and Juice!!

* Great Liver Cleanser --

Ingredients: 2 Large grapefruits * 4 Lemons * 1-2 Cloves Fresh Garlic * 2-inches fresh root ginger
Peel all the ingredients and juice!!
These should keep you buzzing for hours!!
